We recently discovered WaterPoloLegends.com. The people behind it do an amazing job collecting vintage water polo photos and art from all over the globe and as early as 1903! On one of their  posts we found this photo of the Men's Water Polo team at Cal State Long Beach from 1957.

Big West Weekend

The 2010 Big West Conference Women's Water Polo Tournament will take place Friday, April 23 through Sunday, April 25 at the Long Beach State Campus pool. The Long Beach State Women's team will be playing against UC Santa Barbara on Friday at 5:45pm.

Congratulations Heather!

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, April 13. Heather Moody, a two-time Olympic Medalist and has been named Head Coach of the USA Water Polo Women's Junior National Team and an Assistant Coach with the Women's Senior National Team. Moody returns to the Senior Team coaching ranks, where as an Assistant Coach she helped guide the squad to a Silver Medal at the 2008 Olympic Games, after two years at California State University-Long Beach. "Through her entire career as an athlete and the past 6 years as a coach, Heather has also always been about doing what's best for the 'team'. This selfless attitude is just one of the reasons why she is great leader," said USA Head Coach Adam Krikorian.

European Champions Cup

Congratulations to Heather Petri and her Vouliagmeni team mates for winning the European Champions Cup and for being, as the greek media says, the "Queens of European Water Polo". It is worth mentioned the team was congratulated by the greek prime minister saying:

" The victory of these young women is proof of what we can accomplish when we are faithful to our values."
